Release Notes | March - April 2025
Spring is in full bloom, and so is Texture! This month, we've made significant strides in enhancing connectivity, improving user experience, and adding powerful new features to help you better manage your energy data. Our focus continues to be on making the platform more intuitive, efficient, and collaborative.
Whether you're new to Texture or a longtime user, there's always more to explore. Check out our newly updated website here and dive into our blog here to stay in the loop.
Now, let's take a look at what's new!
#🚀 New Features
#Workspace Sharing
You can now share workspaces with external organizations, enabling seamless collaboration across teams. This powerful new feature allows you to invite partners, clients, or other stakeholders to access specific workspaces within your organization, maintaining complete control over what data is shared. Access is managed through a straightforward invitation system in the Settings page under Workspaces.
#Create Leads and Sites
We've added the ability to create new Leads directly in the dashboard, along with the functionality to create Sites both in the dashboard and via our REST API. This streamlines the onboarding process and provides more flexibility for managing customer data.

#Energy Modeling with Palmetto Energy Intelligence
A new energy modeling tab leverages Palmetto Energy Intelligence to generate predictive models for energy consumption, costs, and emissions based on location data. This provides baseline consumption estimates and future forecasting capabilities to support decision-making and planning.
#Shovels Integration
The permits tab now displays comprehensive building permit information for properties, pulled directly from the Shovels API. This provides visibility into historical and current permit activity for a location, giving you important context about property improvements and changes. Permit data is also now available via our REST API for programmatic access.
#Bayou Integration
Support for Bayou App integration has been added, including statement downloads and improved validation, expanding our utility data provider options.
#In-Platform Support via Pylon
Getting help is now easier than ever. With our new in-app chat feature, you can connect directly with the Texture support team right from the platform. Just click the chat bubble to start a conversation—we're here to help!
#✨ Enhancements
#Utility Data Visualization
Expanded interval data tracking capabilities now support Utility API connections, providing comprehensive visibility into energy consumption patterns for meter providers that support interval data.
#Metric Optimization
Users can view this data in daily, hourly, and 15-minute intervals with more intuitive time range options. We've significantly improved our date filtering with new categories including All, Today, Yesterday, Last Week, Last 2 Weeks, Last Month, Last Quarter, and Last Year. We've also added an energy production metric that complements the existing energy consumption data, giving you fuller visibility into your energy profile. See our docs here.

#Enhanced List Views
We've completely redesigned our list views with backend pagination, filtering, sorting, and infinite scrolling capabilities. Starting with the device list view, this new architecture provides faster loading times, smoother navigation, and better performance for customers with large device fleets.
#Improved Dashboard Navigation
We've redesigned the dashboard experience with a cleaner interface, more logical navigation, and improved performance. Settings have been moved to the lower left for better organization, and page titles now display specific device, site, or customer information for easier identification. The workspace switcher has also been refined for smoother transitions between different workspaces, including external workspace switching for better collaboration.
#Utility Provider Badge
A new visual indicator shows which utility provider is currently connected to a site, making it easier to identify the source of your utility data at a glance.
#Apps Page Improvements
We've made several usability and interface enhancements to our Apps page, making it easier to connect and manage your integrations.
#🔧 Fixes & Optimizations
#Authentication Improvements
Our codebase has been significantly refactored to provide a more reliable authentication experience with fewer UI flashes and more predictable behavior when logging in, switching organizations, or navigating between workspaces. This includes better handling of invitations and a more structured approach to managing user sessions.
#Dashboard Performance
Major architectural improvements have reduced loading times throughout the application, particularly when switching between organizations and workspaces. We've implemented DataLoaders for sites and improved query performance throughout the platform. These optimizations create a smoother, more responsive user experience across the platform.
#URL Structure Updates
We've improved our URL structure to include workspace IDs, making deep linking more reliable and allowing for easier sharing of specific pages. The new format also provides better context about what you're viewing directly in the browser tab.
